   Field Trip News
  •  Please look over the list in today’s signed papers of all parents who are going on our trip to the Capitol next Thursday, February 23. Try to arrange carpools so we can take as few cars as possible. Directions and parking are on the back of the note.
  • Please have your 3rd grader wear a RED uniform shirt.
  • All adults must show a picture ID to enter the Capitol building.
  • If your 3rd grader is not going, please send in lunch money for The Varsity on the day of the trip. Usually $10 is plenty! Another parent will assist your child in ordering their lunch and oversee them while we are at The Varsity.
    3RD QUARTER AR GOAL:
Each student should pass at least 6 AR tests before the end of the quarter on March 8. This should include one biography and one chapter book. These books must be pre-approved by your student's teacher. Remaining books are student's choice.
MULTIPLICATION TIMED  TEST ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 NEXT WEEK!
During the first half of the year, we have been developing skills with multiplication and division facts.  Unit Seven continues these systematic skills and extends factors to multiples of 10, 100 and 1000.  Knowing the basic facts as reflexes, without having to figure them out is an essential prerequisite for future developing objectives.  We are so impressed with the progress of our students!
We are reading through several biographies this month in Guided Reading: George Washington, FDR, and George Washington Carver. The students are excited to study about people from the past who aren’t so familiar.
. In Social Studies we are learning about Georgia history, just in time for our trip to the Capitol!
