Testing Tidbits
  • Be sure to have early bedtimes during testing week.
  • Students should eat a good, healthy breakfast.
  • Be sure to arrive at school on time since testing begins early in the morning.
4th quarter AR goal is a minimum of 5 points. At least 2 books must be chapter books.

MULTIPLICATION TIMED TEST EVERY TUESDAY! BE SURE TO PRACTICE FOR 10 MINUTES EVERY DAY!

We are moving into different methods of multiplying.  The students have enjoyed seeing how “partial products” work and next we’ll see how easy “lattice” really is.  Have your student show you how these processes make it easier for them!  We have not explored the “old” way yet, but we will.
The children have certainly increased their confidence with multiplication facts!  If students have not completed the tables, continue to work diligently every night.  For those who have finished, you can still work on efficiency!

We've been working so hard on polishing up our writing skills over the last few weeks. We are learning the importance of planning before writing begins, and we've even written some great multi-paragraph stories.

Next week we will enjoy working on ancient Egyptian art for a fun bulletin board display. Be sure to check it out soon!

We are learning all about simple machines in Science lab and classroom explorations.   We explored the lever before spring break, and this week we’ll move on to wheels and friction. Invention Convention will begin IN CLASS in a few weeks. You may be asked to send in a few recyclable supplies and to answer a few “brainstorming” questions together at home. The rest of the project will be completed at school in cooperative groups.
