This is a busy season for us all! Please double check to see that your child has their change of clothes, snacks, etc. for afternoon activities. Our schedule does not allow time for trips to the office to make phone calls confirming afternoon plans. Thank you for your help in this matter!

We just breezed through our
first math test! I was impressed with
the children’s diligence throughout this unit.
As you review the test in this week’s signed papers, please note that
only the first section, Part A, is graded. While most students do well on Part
B, this contains skills that are still developing and therefore are not graded.
The “Open Response” question is a challenging “brain teaser” type of problem that
requires a multi-step strategy to answer.
Unit 2 reviews addition and
subtraction with in and out boxes, word problems and partial sums. Let the students teach you how we do it in
class.
We are continuing to read Rent a Third Grader and are learning many new and interesting vocabulary words each day. It’s a delightful story that combines compassion and cooperation. Be sure to ask your student to retell the story to you each day.
Everyone just loves our Working with Words block. Ask about some of the fun spelling games we play. You might even want to try some at home!
