Please let us know if homework is regularly taking your third grader longer than 30 minutes to complete. Homework is meant to reinforce skills learned at school during the week. Just send a quick note or email if your 3rd grader is struggling with a skill that you would like for us to review at school. Productive homework sessions are our goal! No worries....just happy homework!

Be sure to utilize a great Everyday Math resource, our Student Reference Book. The "SRB" contains helpful essays divided among broader math topics, such as numbers and counting, operations and computation, data and chance, geometry, measurement, etc. It even includes a data bank which we often refer to in our daily lessons and a game section explaining how to play all those fun Everyday Math games we use in class! Many of the essays even have a "Check for Understanding" section at the end that provides extra practice questions to reinforce what we have learned in class. As you can see, the SRB supports student learning in the classroom and at home.
Our next book is a third grade favorite - Charlotte’s Web. We will begin reading
about our favorite spider next week, just in time for fall!
We have enjoyed our Macon unit so much
and have learned some many interesting facts about Macon . We
are so excited that we will get to visit three of the historic homes we have
learned about. Our Downtown Tour next week will be the perfect
ending to our unit!
We look forward to walking
on the Nature Trail next week and looking for signs of weathering and erosion!
Our unit on Bones and Muscles begins soon!
