FIELD TRIP NEWS

Our next field trip is to the Jarrell Plantation in Juliette. GA.  It is scheduled for Friday, November 21. We will need plenty of drivers/chaperones to accompany us on this trip! More info to follow in the coming weeks.
According to Everyday Math, Unit Four focuses on the most common uses of multiplication and division- those involving multiples of equal groups, equal sharing, and equal grouping. We will also explore links between multiplication and division. Timed tests will begin in the next few weeks. Students will move on to the next level of multiplication as they master the previous facts. Ten minutes of daily practice is the best way to master these facts. Your 3rd grader may enjoy practicing on http://www.multiplication.com/ or on the Everyday Math website.
We are having a great time reading Charlotte’s WebWe will be sending these books home on Friday for students to finish at home during their nightly reading time. Please take the time to enjoy this book with your child. Let them practice using their character voices. This helps them to read with expression and fluency. All books should be returned by Wednesday, November 19. Students may take an AR test on Charlotte's Web when they complete this book.

Jonathan’s Thanksgiving
Our annual 3rd grade Thanksgiving play, Jonathan’s Thanksgiving, will be held on Thursday, November 20 in each classroom. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are invited to attend! Times for the play are:
Brittain and Justice – 8:45
Blizzard – 9:30

As soon as parts come home, encourage your child to practice his/her play part daily. Parts should be memorized so daily practice is crucial.

More info about costumes to follow!
